Kiev Virtuosi is an orchestra based in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. The orchestra has earned national and international recognition as one of Ukraine’s leading orchestral ensembles. It is recognized by both listeners and critics in different countries around the world. The orchestra unites talented young musicians from all over Ukraine. Their age averages at about 30. Most of them are winners of various competitions. The Ensemble gained its reputation of popularizing the music of Western composers on the territory of Ukraine. They also enjoyed a very close collaboration with such outstanding contemporary composers as Penderetskyi, Sylvestrov, Skoryk, and others.

The orchestra’s unique sound, and virtuosity has attracted many internationally acclaimed soloists and conductors to appear with them in public performances over the years. The Kiev Soloists bring their highly poetic spirit of artistry together with their Ukrainian pride to a wide range of international audiences. Their recent tours have taken them to Luxembourg Palace, and UNESCO in Paris, Radio Kulturhaus in Vienna, Komische Oper in Berlin, Great National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw, Tokyo, and Singapore. They have been frequent participants at the David Oistrakh Festival in Parnu, Estonia; Modern Music Festival in Warsaw, Poland; and a Classical Music Festival in Ruhr, Germany.

The Kiev Soloists will be making their first American Tour under the leadership of their new music director, Dmitry Yablonsky, during the 2016-17 season. For the orchestra’s brilliant activity of representing the Ukrainian culture abroad, the Kiev Soloists received the status of the “Ambassador of the Ukrainian Culture” given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The orchestra has recently signed a recording contract with an international label of “Naxos”.
